Well i wouldn’t say it was a Panchira! FAIL (cause this time it was mostly not my fault), but ill try and explain what happen on Panchira! (from this last week, between the 18th and the 23rd of March 2011) in a timeline:
Over the weekend (18th to 20th) there was some random downtime, as well as some major slowdowns, since these weren’t major and the site bounce back, i didnt do anything, business as usual.
On Tuesday the 22nd there were again some slowness and small downtime, so i contacted my host and i was told there were some problems still lingering from the weekend problems and that the site was hosted on new hardware, but that most problems were fixed, ok… i thought.
On Wednesday i finally had some time to go over my e-mails and there were loads of e-mails with confused panchira users, as well as lots of failed password resets >_< i check the site and it seemed ok, but when i checked the code i saw that some of the latest things i had been working on (for the next version of panchira) were gone, then i checked the time of the files and found out that they were, about a month and a half back in time, yeah the site had reverted to more than a month ago T_T say WHAT?
At this point i contacted my host and they said oh yes when we moved you to new hardware we didn’t move the files, we recovered those from your latest backup (fucking month old backup), i wont sum up the rest of my discussion with the host, suffice to say panchira will be leaving soon enough and ill be sure to take some time to make some really nice reviews regarding their service.
Anyways, good thing i don't trust any host with my sites and i had a backup from last friday (the 18th) on my NAS (by the way i have multiple backups, just in case), so i shutdown panchira and after a couple of hours, brought everything back, to how it was 5 days before.
First i would like to say im really sorry, i should have pick this up way sooner, but this wasn't a good week, im a bit overworked hehehe, still in the future i promise ill pay way more attention to my e-mails from panchira (i know i know, i suck), and apparently the host i choose for Panchira! not only didn't do their job right but still weren't professional enough to at least warn me, if i knew about their fuck-up i would have cleaned it up on monday and not on late wednesday >_<
So sorry for everyone that had to sign up again, or made post, or lost something during this past couple of days ^^ and thanks for sticking around with Panchira!, lots of yummy things are on the way hehehe
